Razer Piranha
Essential Gaming Headset
Overview
Headsets are a hard thing to shop for. Many spec and features, very subjective piece of gear.
In this edition of Gang Gamer Grean: Razer Review, Thailand, we are going to be reviewing the Razer Piranha, its "unique", its not just a mere headset, its a communicator.
Pros
- Good sound clarity
- Soft padding
- in-line volume control, and mute button
Cons
- Does hurt the ears after long usage, depend on individual head size.
Piranha Review
The Razer Piranha comes with an impressive packaging, the headset itself is adjustable for various head sizes. The top is padded and cast, and the slim design are very airy, the ear-pieces tighten on the user ears as a support to fit the ears of the player. Although it does feel comfortable for a little while, the next few hours will be the action of taking the headset off cause it actually hurt the ears. The microphone stands on a stem that rises and falls, it can be adjust to titled towards the mouth of the player.
The wiring is a disaster, the three meter long cable can be useful to some, but it is just too long and cause even more chaos of the cable wiring connected to the PC. The in-line puck serves as the volume controller and microphone on and off switch. The USB plug simply serves as to only illuminate the light of the Razer symbol present in the puck and on both side of the headphones. The volume and mute controls on the clip are not good. It only take a slight contact such as a simple brush with the shirt to cause the sudden increase in volume.
I would definitely not recommend the Razer Piranha, while the price is significantly lower than the likes of the Carcharias and the Megalodon, saving up for one of those two or any other proper headset is a better decision. The Piranha would simply cause mayhem in the wrong sense.
